We were blessed with a wonderful sunny day for our annual Charity Golf Day in aid of uniforms for needy children. 19 teams took part in the Texas Scramble event at Sene Valley Golf Club, whose course was looking and playing at its very best.
Organiser, Dave Roseveare, said "Those who played well and others who perhaps didn't fare so well all agreed they had had a splendid and fun day. To such an extent that many asked to be booked in for next year!". The shotgun start game complete, the golfers relaxed in the sunshine on the Sene Valley Terrace with glorious views over the sea and Romney Marsh.
The winners were a team led by Bob Mabberley with runners-up, Rubicon, led by Tim Parrot. The two nearest the pin winners were Mike Simmonds from Channel Rotary Club and Tim Parrot of Rubicon.
All the proceeds from this year's event - around £1,800 - will again be used to support our School Uniforms Project.
We are aiming to run the event again in 2024, probably in early September - watch this space!
